And it is not really going to be vampire style. Just said that to get peoples attention. Anyway; when Jera first gave out this assignment I will admit to being reluctant to talk about politics, after all if you don't want to talk about why you approve, or disapprove a certain candidate, view or how you are going to/did vote what is there to talk about. Well I have been giving it some thought and here they are.
First of all when did running for office become a popularity contest? Was it when the TV made it possible to address several million people at once? What ever happened to the accountability the our elected officials used to be held to? Did that stop when only lawyers and politicians became the only ones to run for office? Yes we live in a free country where anyone can vote for whom they like. So what if there is actually no one worth voting for 99% of the time. Yes I know politicians are people too and will mess up. However' I just wish that so many of them would stop telling us lies and tell us they are about to put it to us so we could use some Vaseline.
